隨著 Facebook (臉書) 的使用者越來越多，每天甚至有多達 25 億個表情符號、貼圖在 Messenger 上發送，也讓 Facebook Messenger 成為現代人溝通、對話的最佳工具。為了讓所有 Facebook Messenger 的用戶能體驗更有趣的互動，以及即將到來的聖誕節，Facebook 在今天 (12 月 16 日) 宣布推出全新的 Messenger Camera 功能，讓更多有趣且應景的 AR 動態貼圖、動態濾鏡、3D 面具特效，能帶給使用者更多有趣的對話互動。
這次的 Messenger Camera 更新，主要是針對攝影的操作介面，以及動態貼圖、濾鏡等特效進行更新。當使用者進入 Messenger 介面後，就可以在介面下方看到虛擬快門鍵，點擊後即可拍攝照片，長按的話則是啟動錄影功能，讓使用者可以一邊與朋友聊天，一邊進行照片拍攝或影片錄製，接著再立即傳送給朋友。此外，為了因應聖誕節的到來，Messenger 推出了各種符合聖誕節氣氛的 AR 動態貼圖、濾鏡、3D 面具特效，透過自拍鏡頭的畫面捕捉，以及 AR 技術的加持，讓使用者在對話視窗中能大玩口吐白雪以及成為應景的馴鹿。另外，在這次的更新中，Messenger 也新增了 1,000 種以上的字體貼紙、相框與可愛的貼圖，使用者與朋友聊天時可以多加利用，讓冷冰冰的文字聊天可以變得更生動有趣。
Messenger Camera 目前似乎只率先開放給 iOS 裝置使用，Android 裝置則是維持舊版介面，且 Play 商店也沒有任何更新訊息。使用 Android 手機且想要體驗全新 Messenger Camera 的朋友，可能要在忍耐一下了。
